Two con-artist brothers infiltrate a remote village and convince the locals they are messengers of the gods, scheming to exploit the villagers' faith to access the hidden riches of their land. To solidify their deception, they recruit Magdalena Solis, a mysterious woman with a troubled past, to play the role of the goddess herself. But as Magdalena’s performance transforms into a genuine delusion of divinity, she begins to believe she truly is the goddess, wielding her newfound power to drive the villagers into acts of violence and fanaticism. The brothers soon lose control of their dangerous con, setting off a chain of violence and fanaticism that threatens their lives and the fragile grip they hold over the village.
